The idea of New Hope Covenant Church began with thirteen people in 1997. Founding Pastor Richard Parrish and his wife Vicki were asked by the core group to help them plant the church. Richard Parrish served as pastor of New Hope Covenant from 1997 to 2007, and he and Vicki remain members of New Hope today. Vicki ministers in music on the praise and worship team. On September 9, 1997, the founding members began meeting on Tuesday evenings at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona. Our first "official" service was held on February 8, 1998 at Las Brisas Elementary School.  Our second location was Deer Valley High School; the third at North Point Preparatory. Before moving to our present house of worship, we met at Arrowhead Elementary School.  We now meet in our own building which we share with our brothers and sisters of Country Gables Community Church (Pastored by Dennis Richmond) at 8217 W. Country Gables Rd. in Peoria, Arizona. We are located between Thunderbird and Bell, just off 83rd Avenue, east of the 101 frwy. Our office Phone is 623-412-2234. In July 2007, we celebrated the advancement of our founding Pastor Richard Parrish. He is now serving as Pastoral Advisor to Music Serving the Word Ministries, a ministry devoted to worshiping God through music and art forms that serve His Word. His new role will offer him greater opportunities to provide pastoral care and spiritual direction for pastors, worship leaders, and congregations throughout North America. For ten years, Pastor Richard provided a strong foundation for New Hope to stand upon through his unwavering emphasis on the importance and relevance of God's Word, our need for the Holy Spirit's control in our lives, and by his willing and faithful service to the corporate church. Richard and Vicki's love for the broken-hearted, the fatherless and widow; and their life's example taught us the meaning of unconditional compassion for our fellow man and gave us a template for the practical application of our faith.
